Extension Learning Circles, a program of the University of Minnesota Extension Service, is an informal educational organization and serves as an outreach arm of the University of Minnesota.
The Mission Statement of ELC is "to provide quality research-based information about issues and concerns related to home, family life, and community in the context of a global environment. Extension Learning Circles are dedicated to the idea that learning is a life-long process in a setting of positive social support. The goal is to help individuals and families in community groups make the most of thier resources and put research being done at the University of Minnesota, in the Land Grant system, and the reliable sources of knowledge to work in thier homes and community".
