John Bellefeuille, Harry Salminen, Larry Knutson, Gerald Schram, and Barry Nelson, County Administrator-Brian Berg Becker County Master Gardener ProgramThe University of Minnesota Master Gardener program includes volunteers of all ages. These volunteers lead projects, answer horticultural questions, hold plant, pest and garden clinics, teach educational programs, and write articles for local papers. Currently Becker County has 19 Master Gardeners that were trained through an intensive training on home horticulture topics from the University of Minnesota.
The Becker County Extension Office features Plant, Pest and Garden Clinics every Monday and Friday (May - September)from 9 a.m. to 12 Noon at the Extension Office - 712 Minnesota Ave, Detroit Lakes, MN. The Gardening Clinics are possible because of the volunteer help of several experienced Master Gardeners.
