How to Find Us

The Becker County Extension Office is located in the Human Services Building (next to Service Cleaners) at 712 Minnesota Ave. in Detroit Lakes, MN. The Extension Office is located on the 3rd floor. Give a call at if you need more detailed information at 218-846-7328 (Ext. 7101).

Becker County Master Gardener Program

The University of Minnesota Master Gardener program includes volunteers of all ages. These volunteers lead projects, answer horticultural questions, hold plant, pest and garden clinics, teach educational programs, and write articles for local papers. Currently Becker County has 19 Master Gardeners that were trained through an intensive training on home horticulture topics from the University of Minnesota.

The Becker County Extension Office features Plant, Pest and Garden Clinics every Monday and Friday (May - September)from 9 a.m. to 12 Noon at the Extension Office - 712 Minnesota Ave, Detroit Lakes, MN. The Gardening Clinics are possible because of the volunteer help of several experienced Master Gardeners.

If you would like to enhance your horticulture skills, and volunteer your time helping others consider becoming a Master Gardener. For more information and to get an applications to particiate int he program please contact Linda Perrine, Office Manager at 218-846-7328 or by e-mail perri015@umn.edu
