Wadena County 4-H Monthly Member Spotlight

Lexi, a junior at Sebeka High School is a member of the West Jolly Jets 4-H Club.  This is Lexi’s 4th year in 4-H.  If she could have a lifetime supply of anything other than money, it would be cows.

While her favorite project area in 4-H is the horse project, Lexi is also involved in the photography, beef, dairy, and metal shop project areas.  In addition to serving as the Leader’s Council President, she also serves as the West Jolly Jet’s club President as well as the Horse Project’s Vice President.  Given this list of offices, one would think that Lexi only has time for 4-H, this couldn’t be farther from the truth!  Lexi is also involved in FFA, BPA, Skills, and Volleyball at the Sebeka High School and is also the reigning Miss Nimrod; we’re not sure quite how she manages to do it all, but she does very well.

Lexi’s favorite 4-H activity is the County Fair and the most useful skills that she has perfected through 4-H is leadership; in fact, she is known for being a leader.  In her free time, you will find Lexi working at the nursing home as a CNA, her goal is to buy a new truck.

Something interesting that not everyone knows about Lexi is that she really enjoys spending time with new people.  She is inspired by cows and when asked to teach us something in the next 5 minutes, Lexi said she’s teach us what mastitis is and how to treat it in cattle.

Her career aspiration is to attend the University of Minnesota-Crookston to major in agronomy.

In Lexi’s words ‘4-H is a great opportunity to expand your view in anything that you’d like to be involved in.’

Lexi is a valuable asset to our program and we’re so glad that she is a junior and will be around here for a few more years.  Keep up the great work, Lexi!!
