  • Message from Dorothy: Teenagers: Your self-confidence is key!
    Associate dean and state 4-H director Dorothy Freeman encourages young people to be bold and build their self-confidence.
  • JOANNhearts4H – Support 4-H youth with a 4-H paper clover
    In February, make a $4 donation at your local JOANN register. You'll support 4-H and get $4 off your next purchase. And join a special Valentine's Day community service event on Feb. 3.
  • Attend spring 2018 SS&W Leader Certification Training
    Register by April 6 for the April 21-22 training to be held at the Long Lake Conservation Center in Palisades. This training is for Minnesota 4-H adults and youth (9th grade and older) that lead or would like to lead training in shooting sports or wildlife.
  • Spend your summer in a youth development internship with 4-H
    Minnesota 4-H is now accepting applications for 2018 summer internships with 4-H programs in counties across the state. The application deadline is open until positions are filled with a preference for candidates who apply by Feb. 15.
  • Jerry Ludwig of Redwood County named Outstanding Lifetime Volunteer
    Jerry Ludwig has been chosen as Minnesota’s 4-H Salute to Excellence Outstanding Lifetime Volunteer.
  • Crissy Otting of Clearwater County honored as Volunteer of the Year
    Crissy Otting has received the Minnesota 4-H Salute to Excellence Volunteer of the Year Award.
  • Arts-In Director Application
    We are looking to hire an Arts-in Director for 2018 who will assist in the selection and training of the Student Directors and work with the Student Directors to develop a theme and plot for the County Arts-in 30 minute Musical Performance at the County Fair.
  • Arts-In Director Needed
    The role of Arts-In Director is incredibly valuable, and we are now accepting applications for the position for our 2018 show season.
  • Volunteers wanted for 4-H STEM Library programs!
    Over the past year 4-H has been partnering with the Washington County Libraries to provide STEM programs as a part of the Libraries’ STEM Saturday programming. 4-H and the libraries have had great success with these programs and we are now looking for high school youth and adult volunteers to help lead these programs. Library programs are on Saturdays and are either 60 or 90 minutes in length and include topics such as engineering, science experiments, and more.
  • 4-H Project Kits now available for check out at Club meetings!
    The Extension office now has 8 Project Kits for use at Club meetings. Each Project Kits contain fun, hands-on learning activities using the Experiential Learning Model. Our current Project Kits are: Balloon Powered Cars, Balls and Tracks, Birds/Birding, Bridge Building, Incredible Wearables, Rubber Band Powered Cars, Straw Rockets, Water/Watersheds.
