STEM Tour to MNDOT Bridge Office
Washington County 4-H has teamed up with MNDOT to bring 4-H’ers to the MNDOT Bridge Office in Oakdale to learn more about the STEM that goes into transportation and bridge building! Join us on Saturday, May 6th at 9:30am. The bus will leave from Hooley Hall.
We will begin with a tour of the MNDOT facilities including learning from MNDOT staff about the various equipment involved in bridge building and overall transportation. MNDOT staff will also share about their educational background and experiences that led them to their STEM related jobs with MNDOT. Then we will engage in multiple hands-on activities to learn more about the STEM behind bridge building and even build our own bridge! You don’t want to miss out on this fun filled day!
Please plan to bring a bag lunch to eat during our visit. On our way home, we will stop for ice cream at Nelsons and be back to Hooley Hall by about 2:15 pm. YUM!
All youth grades 5th and up are invited to attend. To cover the cost of a bus and ice cream, $15 will be charged per youth. Registration is due Thursday, April 27th!
We are looking for a few parent volunteers to help chaperone and join in on the fun! Please let Alyssa know if you are interested in chaperoning.
