Washington County 4-H has established a STEM scholarship

This scholarship has been established to assist youth who have been involved in the Washington County 4-H program and who have shown an interest in pursuing a collegiate degree in the areas of science, engineering and mathematics.

Selection for the scholarship will be made by a committee consisting of a Washington County Extension Service staff member, members of the Washington County STEM committee and experts in scientific, engineering and mathematical fields.


  • You have been an active 4-H member for six years
  • You are a high school senior or a high school graduate applying for a four year college or university degree
  • You have not previously received this scholarship
  • You show proof of acceptance in science, engineering or mathematics at a college or university
  • Scholarship applicants must major in undergraduate academic science engineering or math areas such as physics, biochemistry, biology, chemistry, physics, computer science, geology or geophysics, astronomy or astrophysics, engineering, mathematics or statistics. Other areas in science or technology may also be considered
  • Completion of a one page essay explaining how your chosen field of study will be beneficial to you and related to 4-H.
