Mille Lacs County Farm Family

Turner Family

The Turner farm was established in 2018. The multi-generational family merged households to establish Triple T Alpaca farm. Beth and Brent Turner, along with their son, Jameson, found a 40-acre parcel in Mille Lacs County with Brent’s parents, John and Darlene. In four short years, the family has expanded the existing barn, pastures and dry lot. The farm has grown from five males to 35 combined males and females with 15 new crias expected in 2023.

The Turners are active in the Alpaca Owners Association show circuit and attend five to six shows a year. Triple T competes with the biggest Alpaca farms in the country. Last year, Triple T was ranked fourth in the nation in the “new small breeding farm” category at the National AOA Fleece Conference. They are in the running to be in the top five again this year.

In the summer, Triple T Alpacas hosts open farm events featuring vendors, food trucks and free tours of the farm. The family also travels locally attending vending fairs and events where they sell products made from alpacas.

Beth and Brent make up Triple T’s show team. Together they train the animals, travel and network at shows. Jameson joins his parents when his school schedule allows. All family members are involved in the day-to-day operation of the farm, which includes chores, herd health and general maintenance. Beth and Brent, with input from John and Darlene, are responsible for breeding and birthing during the summer.

Triple T and the Turner family are involved in their community. They are vendors at their local farmers market and support other small business events in the area. Triple T Alpaca has already helped multiple farms start their own herds and they serve as a mentor farm to their new clients. Beth also serves on the Alpaca Owners Association membership committee. She works in conjunction with the board of directors on membership recruitment and retention.
