Multi County 4-H Animal Science Day will take place on Saturday, May 19 here on the Wadena County Fairgrounds. This event features Brad Johnson, NDSU Animal Science Professor as a key note at 10am followed by breakout sessions in beef, dairy, dog, goat, horse, poultry, rabbit, sheep, and swine as well as an opportunity to complete level I or II LQA&E! Cost to attend is $5 which includes lunch and preregistration is required by May 11. Check out the flyer or head over to our Facebook page for more information.

Registration for Citizenship Washington Focus (CWF)
This is a fantastic experience to learn about citizenship at the national level, meet other 4-H youth in Minnesota and beyond, and tour historic landmarks in Washington, D.C.  The cost to attend is $1,600, this can be paid in installments and the Wadena County 4-H Leader's Council budgets to offer a $400 scholarship to kids that attend.  CWF is open to youth aged 14-18 to learn about the legislative branch of the United States government and build leadership and civic engagement skills.  Minnesota's delegation will travel to Washington, D.C. June 23-30, 2018.

• Fillmore County will host their 2nd Annual 4-H Rabbit Fun Show & Clinic on Saturday, May 5 at the Fillmore County Fairgrounds in Preston, MN. The cost is $2/rabbit and the show begins at 12:00 pm.

• Hubbard County 4-H is hosting a rabbit fun show on Saturday, May 5 at the Akeley Regional Community Center Gym. Registration begins at 10:30 am with the show beginning at noon. Cost will be $2.50/rabbit, rabbits and tattooing will be available if you haven’t gotten your show rabbits for this year’s show season yet!

• Northern Pines 4-H Summer Camp will take place June 3-5 at Northern Pines Assembly Grounds near Park Rapids, MN. This camp is 3 FUN days of 4-H & friendship this year taking on a unique theme that encompasses tie-dye, mindfulness, music, and nature! It's going to be a ton of lakeside fun! Registration is due by May 2!    
                                                
• The 2018 Central Area 4-H Horse Camp will be held June 7-10 at Camp Shamineau.This awesome camp gives youth a chance to gain skills in Western Horsemanship, Games, English, Drill Teams, Trail Class, Crafts, Showmanship, Western heritage, Conditioning, and Massage Therapy. This is a really great camp that fills up quickly. Enrolled horse members received this information in the mail, anyone who has not indicated interest in the horse project in 4-H Online that is interested can call the office if you are interested in attending after reading about it!

• Hubbard County 4-H Riders will be hosting an Invitational horse show in Park Rapids on Saturday, June 9. Registration begins at 8am with the show beginning at 9am sharp. Check out the flyer under the ‘Downloads’ section for full information.

Dairy Days 2018 will be held on June 28 in Brainerd. This opportunity is open to all youth ages 21 and under. Check out the article for class lists, entry form, tag information, etc.

• West Otter Tail is hosting an Undercover Super Heroes Junior Camp for youth in grades 3-5. This will take place June 23-24 at Faith Haven Bible Camp near Battle Lake,MN.                                                                           

• Explore Careers in Agriculture Day will be held on Monday, June 18.  This event is open to 4-H'ers in grades 8+ interested in discovering the career opportunities in the world of agriculture.  It will be held at Riverview LLP in Murdock, MN

• Crow Wing County is hosting a 4-H Goat Project Clinic on Saturday, May 19 in Brainerd. This will be an excellent opportunity to learn about fitting for show evaluating kids, showmanship skills, proper nutrition and more. The cost is $12 to attend and preregistration is not required. Check out the flyer for more information.

• The Crow Wing County Poultry Club invites you to take part in their 3rd Annual Poultry Fun Show on Saturday, May 19 on the Crow Wing County Fairgrounds in Brainerd. Registration begins at 9am. This is a great opportunity to practice showing all ages and breeds of birds!

• The 2018 4-H Buckle Series is back to Wadena for another year! This series consists of 3 shows with pleasure and games high point awards for each age division. Buckles will be awarded at the final show in Clearwater County to overall point winners. Show #1 is June 16 in Beltrami County, Show #2 is June 23 in Wadena County, and Show #3 is July 7 in Clearwater County. This is a great opportunity to practice, compete, and maybe even win some hardware!
