    Message from Jennifer: It’s a new season of doing in 4-H

    Interim Minnesota 4-H state leader Jennifer Skuza celebrates all the ways youth and adults can take action in 4-H. As the new program year begins, set your intentions for a year full of doing.

    Apps for the state horse and dog shows

    The 4-H State Horse Show will be on Sept. 14-17. The 4-H State Dog Show will happen Sept. 22-23. Will you be there? Download the app before you go!

    Plan and develop your club’s budget

    It’s time for 4-H clubs to develop their annual budgets. Budgets provide a written plan for raising and spending money to accomplish club goals. Sharing budget reports with your club throughout the year is a great way to help all 4-H members understand where and how funds are being used.

    Keep youth safe when participating in 4-H programs

    Now is the time of year to plan for risk and keeping youth safe as they participate in a variety of programs, activities and events. Use our online planning tool and risk management materials to ensure safe and healthy environments for youth and adults participating in 4-H programs and activities.

    Plan to attend annual volunteer training this fall

    Powerful things happen for youth when they’re in a positive relationship with caring adults. The 2018 annual volunteer training, “4-H Grows Relationships,” will ready youth and adult volunteers to connect to young people in meaningful ways. Dates and locations are planned across the state this fall. Be sure to bring a team of youth and adult volunteers.

    Home School STEM Class

    What makes a top spin the longest? How would you design a paper glider? Can you create a car out of items in a junk drawer that rolls far and straight?

    After and Out of School Programming 2018- 2019

    “Things that Move” is this school years STEM offering for youth 1st – 5th grades. This class involves recreation activities, snack and hands on activities such as making cars, gliders, tops etc.

    Paid internship hours available through Clay County 4-H

    Are you a college student looking for experience to put on your resume? Do you want to make $11 per hour? Are you interested in working with youth in 1st – 5th grades? Join the Clay County after school program.

    Re-enrolling for the 2018-2019 4-H Year

    The 4-H year is almost over, and therefore a new one is right around the corner!
