  • REDD
    Older 4-H’ers have YELLO, BLU, and GREAN. Now we have REDD for our 4-H members in grades K-5. We have a special evening planned full of science, Legos, and fun activities on Friday, March 2nd from 6-8:30pm at the Itasca County Courthouse. Cost is $3/person or $10/family. Registration due no later than Tuesday, February 27th.

  • Trail and Showmanship Clinic with Darleen Gargano and Kelly Manner
    Are you ready to take your Trail Class and Showmanship knowledge to the next level? AQHA competitors Darleen Gargano adn Kelly manner are offering their expertise to Itasca and North St Louis County 4-H'ers in a one-day clinic free of charge. Open to enrolled 4-H'ers grades 3+, this clinic will take place on Sunday, May 6th from 8am-4pm at the Swan River Pastures in Bovey, MN. Registration is open to the first 15 participants, so register now at https://goo.gl/V3NdFE.
  • Horse Gaming Clinic
    Enrolled 4-H members grades 3+ can come and learn gaming techniques at this clinic with Bambi Egle and Tammy Hofsommer on July 21-22, 2018 at the Itasca County Fairgrounds. Camping is available at the fairgrounds and there is a $75 per horse/rider combination fee and a $20 returnable stall fee. RSVP now at https://goo.gl/jqULcr.
  • Heart and Hooves
    The Heart and Hooves Clinics focus on strengthening the partnership between horse and enrolled 4-H riders grades 6+ using groundwork, obstacle course work and riding basics. These clinics offer an amazing opportunity for equestrian and equine to advance their skill level, no matter their previous experience. Clinics I & II will take place June 23-25 and Clinic III will be September 15 & 16 at the Heart and Hooves Horsemanship Arena and Obstacle Course in Deer River, MN. The $400 fee for Clinics I & II and $250 for Clinic II includes meals and camping onsite is available.

    For landowners in Itasca County having a healthy and productive woodlot is important. And we recognize that we have new challenges facing us with a growing list of invasive species and a changing climate. It is very important to take the time to develop clear management goals with intentional planning to maintain the resiliency of your woods.
  • Information on moving docks, lifts and equipment in Itasca County
    If you plan to move a dock, lift or other water equipment from one lake or river to another, all visible zebra mussels, faucet snails, and aquatic plants must be removed whether they are dead or alive.
