Learn about new Livestock Quality Assurance training options for 4-H animal science members

New in 2018 - 4-H animal science members have options for livestock quality assurance training.

All youth participating as state fair 4-H livestock exhibitors in beef, dairy, sheep, swine, poultry, rabbit, meat goat, dairy goat and lama must complete Livestock Quality Assurance training requirements.

In 2018, there will be two training options:

  1. A three-hour in-person workshop - Livestock Quality Assurance and Ethics (LQA&E) with certification that is good for three fair seasons, or
  2. A one-hour on-line training - Youth for the Quality Care of Animals (YQCA) which costs $12/member and certification is good for one fair season.

Youth completing either quality assurance training option will receive a certificate of completion.
