4-H in Lincoln County

Message from Jennifer: It’s a new season of doing in 4-H
Interim Minnesota 4-H state leader Jennifer Skuza celebrates all the ways youth and adults can take action in 4-H. As the new program year begins, set your intentions for a year full of doing.
Apps for the state horse and dog shows
The 4-H State Horse Show will be on Sept. 14-17. The 4-H State Dog Show will happen Sept. 22-23. Will you be there? Download the app before you go!
Plan and develop your club’s budget
It’s time for 4-H clubs to develop their annual budgets. Budgets provide a written plan for raising and spending money to accomplish club goals. Sharing budget reports with your club throughout the year is a great way to help all 4-H members understand where and how funds are being used.
Keep youth safe when participating in 4-H programs
Now is the time of year to plan for risk and keeping youth safe as they participate in a variety of programs, activities and events. Use our online planning tool and risk management materials to ensure safe and healthy environments for youth and adults participating in 4-H programs and activities.
Plan to attend annual volunteer training this fall
Powerful things happen for youth when they’re in a positive relationship with caring adults. The 2018 annual volunteer training, “4-H Grows Relationships,” will ready youth and adult volunteers to connect to young people in meaningful ways. Dates and locations are planned across the state this fall. Be sure to bring a team of youth and adult volunteers.
Create a 4-H video to win a $50 gift card!
The First Generation Initiative team is excited to announce a video contest to highlight the great work being done by 4-H'ers to recruit and orient folks new to 4-H! Submit your video by Dec. 15 for a chance to win a $50 Visa gift card!
    Farewell from Taylor
While we wrap up one of my favorite times of the year, it's bittersweet for me to be writing that I will be leaving my position as the 4-H Program Coordinator in Lincoln County. My last day with Extension will be on September 6, 2018.
    Thank You State Fair Chaperones
A big thank you to Mary Kay Lacek, Brandon Gifford and Tracy Baune for chaperoning our youth at the Minnesota State Fair!
Lincoln County Goes to State Fair
Lincoln County was well represented at the Minnesota State Fair with 38 4-H'ers attending either the Livestock Judging, Livestock or General encampments.
    County 4-H Awards
Each year, 4-H youth from Lincoln County are recognized for their achievement in project work and community service. Do you know someone who should be recognized for outstanding 4-H involvement? Award nominations are due to the Extension office by September 27.
