Fall Volunteer Training

Fall is a time of change; the leaves change colors, the air gets crisp, and our favorite football teams are playing on Sundays.  It can be a time of reflection as the year is ending.  It also can be a time of excitement; the holiday season is upon us along with the new 4-H year!

Fall Volunteer Training is an opportunity for you to network with all 4-H youth  and volunteers from around Pine County.  Our 4-H’ers may know each other, but are they really connected? Powerful things happen for youth when they’re in a positive relationship with caring adults. Those relationships lead to a greater sense of confidence, competence, character and caring for young people.  I am excited to share with you "4-H Grows Relationships."

Provided by University of Minnesota Extension, you will leave this training with:

  • Tools to build strong relationships with youth and adults.
  • Ideas from other volunteers on what works for them.
  • A plan to connect every young person in meaningful ways to other young people and adults.

This training is expected to last no more than two hours (including dinner) and is for ALL 4-H youth and volunteers.  It is expected that each club have at least one (but not limited to) adult and youth that attends.  It will be more beneficial and meaningful if your club has a team of multiple youth and adults that attend.

Fall Volunteer Training will be held on Tuesday, November 13 at the Pine County Courthouse, Board Room.  It will start promptly at 6:30 p.m. and end by 8:30 p.m.  Please RSVP no later than Thursday, November 8 so we can get an accurate count for the meal.  Additional training locations can be found at Minnesota 4-H Annual Volunteer Training.

Contact the Extension Office to RSVP or for more information at 800-657-3813 or fmoyer@umn.edu.
