Volunteers wanted for 4-H STEM Library programs!

Over the past year 4-H has been partnering with the Washington County Libraries to provide STEM programs as a part of the Libraries’ STEM Saturday programming. 4-H and the libraries have had great success with these programs and we are now looking for high school youth and adult volunteers to help lead these programs.

Library programs are on Saturdays and are either 60 or 90 minutes in length and include topics such as engineering, science experiments, and more. Volunteers will be responsible for setting up, welcoming participants, leading various program activities, facilitating reflection, and cleaning up. Each program will come with a project kit that includes the curriculum and all the materials needed to lead the activities.

Here are the following programs that we are looking for volunteers for:

Saturday, January 13th 1:00-2:30pm Stillwater Library Rubber Band Cars

Saturday, January 20th 10:30-11:30am Wildwood Library Mahtomedi, Candy Science

Saturday, March 17th 10:30-12:00pm Oakdale Library, Rubber Band Cars

Saturday, April 14th 1:00-2:30pm Hardwood Creek Library, Forest Lake Straw Rockets

If you are interested in leading a library program or have any questions please contact Alyssa, kruze008@umn.edu or 651-430-6807.
