  • Re-Enrollment Continues
Each year, 4-H families must re-enroll both youth members and adult volunteers. The process is quick and easy; even families with multiple members should be done in ten minutes or less.
  • National 4-H Week Oct 7-13
It’s time to celebrate National 4-H Week! We hope you have been working with your club to come up with some fun ideas to celebrate and share 4-H with others.  Here are some ideas for each day that week to show your 4-H spirit and spread the word about 4-H.
  • 4-H Promotion Contest
Create a 4-H promotion idea with your club or as an individual/team during this week.  Notify the Extension Office of your idea and how you put it to work (including location).  Judges will evaluate the promotions and choose the winners.  Any promotion idea is eligible! A prize will be awarded to both a club and an individual 4-H member/team.  Submit your entries by October 1.
  • Explore 4-H Day Open House
Help spread the word about the upcoming 4-H open house events to people in your community.  Post a flyer at your school or local community bulletin board, etc.  There will be hands-on activities and an opportunity to visit with members and adults involved in our program.  Volunteers are still needed to help with these events, contact Kelly at the Extension Office to volunteer.
  • Club Officer Training
Presidents, Vice-Presidents, Secretaries, and Treasurers are required to attend Officers’ Training each year.

County Agriculture Educator

  • Farm Resource Guide Available
The Farm Resource Guide for 2018 is now available upon request at many University of Minnesota Extension County offices across the state. This resource guide includes a variety of useful farm business management information.
  • MN Land Rental Rates
This publication provides a historical perspective on rental rates paid by a group of Minnesota farmers and trends in those rental rates over the past five years. This information is meant as a guide and starting point. The information and data is not meant to establish, determine, set, fix, or even hint at what actual rents should be. It is simply a reporting of historical land rental rates in Minnesota.
  • FINBIN Report on MN Farm Finances
The 2,306 Minnesota farms included in the FINBIN database represent a broad cross-section of Minnesota production agriculture. While there is no “typical” Minnesota farm, these farms include a large enough sample to provide a good barometer of commercial farming in Minnesota. FINBIN data is provided by farms that participate in Minnesota State Farm Business Management Education programs and the Southwestern Minnesota Farm Business Management Association. These farms represent about 3 percent of the farms in the state and 14% of commercial farms with sales of over $250,000.
