4-H clover Waseca County 4-H Garage Sale Fundraiser: Club assignments and information

This is the largest garage sale during the Waseca city-wide garage sales weekend. The proceeds from this event will help fund 4-H camps, scholarships and project-related learning opportunities for Waseca County youth.

We will need a lot of help from youth and adults to make this a successful fundraiser for our county 4-H program – please put the dates on the calendar and block out some time you can help!

Workers needed

Each club needs to provide workers for the day of the event. Club leaders will have a sign-up sheet with the shift times – contact them if you can help.

Donation and setup nights

Each club should send volunteers to their assigned donation time to help with collection, sorting, arranging, pricing and organization of sale items. It is important we have at least six to eight volunteers from your club there the entire time.

Earn scholarships by helping with the garage sale

If you are a 4-H member and only participate in one 4-H event all year long, you still benefit from the funds raised at a Waseca County 4-H fundraiser. The garage sale is a great fundraiser because it requires very little expense and supplies to host—it does, however, require a lot of volunteer help from 4-H members and their families.

Because the funds from the garage sale are used directly for programming and events, we want to offer the 4-H members who assist with the garage sale an incentive through scholarship dollars for various 4-H events and activities.

Each Waseca County 4-H member can earn up to $25 in scholarship money for future 4-H events and activities by helping with the garage sale. Note: Time worked in each shift must be at least 1.5 hours or longer.

  • Earn $10 for working at a donation or set-up shift - Saturday, May 11; Monday, May 13; or Thursday, May 16.
  • Earn $10 for working a shift during the Garage Sale  - Friday, May 17; Saturday, May 18 or Sunday, May 19.
  • Earn $10 for working at a clean-up shift - Sunday, May 19.
