Use of 401 Coffey Hall 401 Coffey Hall is a multi-use conference room mainly used by staff in Coffey Hall. Uses include, meetings, conference calls, Internet access and ITV. It can be scheduled through Meeting Maker or by calling 612-625-2787. It should be known that Extension staff needing this room for ITV purposes will be given priority over someone using it for a meeting. In some instances you may be asked to move your meeting to another room to accommodate ITV use. The receptionist in 405 can help you with that. Should you need to rearrange the room, please re-set it to the way it was before. Also please clean the tables after use if you have had food/beverage delivered. ITV USE Please use the PolyCom remote (available from 475) to make whatever adjustments are necessary to the PolyCom ITV unit. The carpeting in 401 is not static resistant. Because the video unit and microphone are subject to damage from static electricity, we ask that you always remember to touch the metal video cart to discharge any static electricity before touching any of the other video equipment or microphones. Please be careful not to trip over the microphone cable when you're moving the microphone for the video unit. Also take care not to trip over any of the other cables connected to the ITV equipment. Please refrain from moving the video unit or the computer. The video unit has been placed where it is for maximum visibility, and the computer is placed where it is closest to the network jack. To reserve the ITV equipment & 401, please use the ITV Request Form located on the newly revamped IT web site. From the internal page, under Communication & Educational Technology Services, click on Information Technology. Then in the right hand column, under "Frequently Requested Items," you will find "Interactive Television Request Form." This contains a printable PDF file of the form. When you fill this out and submit it, someone from IT will contact you to make the necessary arrangements. CONFERENCE CALLS There is a Sure Conference set located on the cart that can be used for placing conference calls in 401. The phone jack is located on the south wall, near the computer jack. It is not recommended that you use the STE phone set on the computer cart for audio teleconferences. Although that phone has a speaker in it, the microphone and speaker are not adequate for larger conference calls. The STE phone has been placed in 401 primarily for troubleshooting ITV connections should problems arise. INTERNET CONNECTION You may use the computer in the room or bring your own laptop and plug it into the internet jack in that room. You are welcome to plug an LCD projector into that computer for group presentations if you wish. A video screen is also located in the room for projections. OVERHEAD PROJECTOR There are a couple of overhead projectors (not LCD computer projectors) in the room for your use as well. CHALKBOARD If you use the chalkboard and want to save what you have written on the board, you need to indicate that. Otherwise the custodian will clean the boards every night. FURNITURE Do not drag the center table, lift to move it. Please contact Elaine Greenfield (612-624-4950, 475 Coffey) if you have questions, concerns, or suggestions regarding the use of 401. |
