password troubles?

    Between your local area network, email, and the internet, it can be confusing and frustrating to keep track of all your username and passwords. In order to minimize your frustration and confusion, we have put together a listing of the various systems we use in Extension and who to call for help when you need it.

  • Expires every 60 days
  • Minimum length 6 characters
  • Not case sensitive
  • Right-click red N in system tray
  • Choose User Administration for Extension Service | Novell password administration
  • Click on Change Password

    Meeting Maker Name
  • Never expires
  • No minimum length
  • Is case sensitive
  • From within Meeting Maker, select Edit | Preferences
  • Click on Login tab
  • Enter current password and new password

    Extension Central Authentication System At least six alpha and numeric or other valid characters Go to Extension Authentication Extension's Information Technology Help Line at 612/624-6700
  • File Manager
  • County Web Sites
  • Programs Database
  • Extension Accountability and Reporting System
  • Internet ID (X.500 User ID)
    With Internet password (sometimes referred to as e-mail password)
  • Go to ADCS
  • Click on Passwords
  • Login using your Internet ID and Internet password
  • Click on Password Change
  • Enter your new password where indicated and click Submit
  • NOTE: You can change both your Internet password and Enterprise Systems password on the same screen. Be careful you are changing the correct password.
  • Academic and Distributed Computing Services (ADCS) Technology Help Line
  • Call 612/626-4276 OR
  • Walk-in to 50 Coffey Hall, 152 Shepherd Labs or 93 Blegen Hall
  • Tell them you need to have your Internet password (sometimes referred to as e-mail password) changed. HINT: DO NOT mention FormsNirvana.
  • NOTE: Once your internet password has been changed, your e-mail program (e.g. Pegasus Mail) may no longer be able to access your e-mail account until you set your new password in that program.
  • U of M modem pool internet access (from home)
  • POP mail account (@umn.edu)
  • Update Personal Information
  • Electronic Grants Management System (EGMS)
  • Financial Reports on the WEB
  • Management Reporting
  • TechMart (for personal purchases)
  • Also needed to complete FNA form in either EGMS FormsNirvana or Financial FormsNirvana - to create or modify your account.
  • Internet ID (X.500 User ID)
    With Enterprise Systems password
  • Expires every 100 days
  • 3 hour time out period
  • Password case sensitive, must be combination of 6-8 alphanumeric characters
  • Passwords can't be reused
  • Can't be same as your Internet password
  • Go to ADCS
  • Click on Passwords
  • Login using your Internet ID and Internet or Enterprise Systems password
  • Click on Password Change
  • Scroll down to lower portion of screen and enter current Enterprise Systems password along with new password. Click Submit.
  • NOTE: You can change both your Internet password and Enterprise Systems password on the same screen. Be careful you are changing the correct password.

  • Financial FormsNirvana (FFN)
  • TechMart (if placing departmental order, will link directly to Financial FormsNirvana)
  • Electronic Document Management System (EDMS)
    Can also be used to access:
  • Electronic Grants Management System (EGMS)
  • Financial Reports on the WEB
  • Management Reporting
  • PeopleSoft Operator ID
  • Expires every 90 days
  • 7-8 characters, at least one non-alphabetic
  • Dictionary check to enhance passwords
  • Accounts automatically disabled after 180 days of inactivity
  • Accounts automatically disabled after 3 failed login attempts
  • Click on the PeopleSoft icon or select PeopleTools 7.5 from the Start menu.
  • When prompted, enter your PeopleSoft Operator ID and password
  • Click on the Set Password button
  • Enter a new password where indicated and click on the OK button.
