Youth 7th-12th Become an Ambassador

The purpose of the Ambassador Program is to develop talents in youth leaders, cultivate leadership skills and responsibilities in youth leaders, create a better understanding of local citizenship and strengthen/promote 4-H in Benton County.  We are looking to build up the group of Ambassadors here in Benton County.  The current dedicated ambassadors are excited to draw in other youth in grades 7-12th.

Prior to my arrival, a position had been posted for a 4-H Ambassador Advisor. We are excited to announce that the position was filled by one of our dedicated volunteers, Joyce Belanger. Joyce and I together have been working with lead ambassadors, to determine the next steps in the program.

During officer training we were able to have candid conversations with several youth. Since that evening, we have held an ambassador leader meeting to redesign the information given out to prospective ambassadors, updated the application process as well as planned a fun event that took place on Nov 19. Thirty of us enjoyed a 4-H Youth Ambassador bowling night with “competitive” bowling, pizza, pop and laughing! We handed out the NEW Ambassador Program Information Handbook, Ambassador Application and even a few 4-H enrollment forms for interested kids.

All families with youth 7-12th, will receive a packet in the mail with all of the updated Ambassador Information. Please be sure to look this over with your youth in order to enlighten them to all of the advantages of this amazing program.
