Spice Up the Holidays with Herbs

Master Gardeners Karen Wright and Barb Lamson talked with University Advancement Vice President, Kent Stanley, about taking charge of the windows wells at Minnesota State University's Alumni Foundation Building to make them more attractive. Wright and Lamson have been switching out plants on a regular basis and adding signs to educate about the varieties, their care, etc.
The other window features "Plants of Steel" such as Spider Plant and English Ivy to give those who say they have a "brown thumb" an opportunity to learn about plants in which they may have success.
The displays have been well-received and the dynamic Master Garden duo has been asked to continue the displays. Barb and Karen also talk gardening on KMSU 89.7 FM radio on Mondays at 10:35 - 10:40 a.m. and on Fridays from 9:35 - 10:00 a.m. Barb has been doing the Master Garden program on KMSU radio for 30 some years! Harvey Hesse is a regular contributor on the shows as well.
