NEW 4-H Volunteer Training

We are pleased to announce that a brand new online orientation for applying 4-H volunteers is now live and available on the 4‑H website. This new orientation is designed to be more engaging for volunteers, more reflective of the diversity of our state, and more consistent with University of Minnesota Extension brand identity requirements. Volunteers will be able to complete all modules of the orientation within one lesson, including the Safety of Minors training. Upon completing all the sections, volunteers will be automatically directed to the survey where they will record their training completion. The training is somewhat mobile friendly; it will work well on all Android devices but works somewhat inconsistently on iPads. It will not work on iPhones. In addition to being able to complete it from a computer, a PDF copy is available for download for volunteers who prefer to read it.

A Note from:

Extension educator, distance learning and technology

Minnesota 4-H is committed to providing safe and healthy environments for youth and adults participating in 4-H programs and activities - and 4-H volunteers have a critical role in that. The new risk management training piece will allow all our volunteers to better understand their role in creating those safe and welcoming environments as you begin planning for your upcoming meetings and projects.

Please take a look at the link here as this will be covered at upcoming January meetings.
