Youth needed to serve as counselors at the Regional 4-H Camp

The search is on for qualified youth to serve as 2019 Regional 4-H Camp Counselors. The Morris Regional 4-H Camp is a unique camping opportunity for youth participants and counselors. Camp will be held at the University of Minnesota Morris campus in June. The facility is full-service with top quality dorms, a full menu of great food, and a wide variety of recreational activities.

Twenty-five youth in grades 7+ will be selected to serve as Directors, Senior Counselors, and Junior Counselors. The role of a camp counselor is to help campers have experiences that contribute to their growth and maturity by demonstrating values campers can mode. Counselors will also help them experience increased levels of responsibility and develop their self-esteem through experiencing success.

Camp Position Descriptions:

  • Director:  Experience at camp is preferred but not mandatory to apply.  The role of this position is to work together with the camp staff and be responsible for the camp.  They are expected to provide leadership in planning, preparing for, conducting and teaching camp programs.

  • Sr. Camp Counselors (gr. 9+): Experience at camp is preferred but not mandatory to apply. (Being a Sr. Camp Counselor the year before does not guarantee a spot for the current year.)
