Attend Winter Garden College!

The weather outside is frightful: cold, windy, and snowy; not conditions that are conducive to gardening.  So what do gardeners do in the winter time? They plan, they order plants and seeds, and they learn about gardening.  Are you a gardener looking for something to fill the long, cold, winter hours? If so, Clay and Douglas Counties just might have the solution for you. Attend Winter Garden College!

This year’s theme is Woody Perennials for Your Garden. There are many northern hardy trees and shrubs that add color, texture and provide shelter for wildlife. Come learn about tree and shrub selection, planting, care and maintenance.  Presented by Randy Nelson, Extension Educator in Clay County and Robin Trott, Extension Educator in Douglas County, topics include: Northern Hardy Roses, Tree Planting Tips and Techniques, Flowering Trees and Shrubs for your Garden and Tree Pruning Basics.
