    4-H Family Fun Night Volunteers Wanted

    We are in search of youth and adult volunteers who would be willing to lead activity tables at our 4-H Family Fun Night. Each club is asked to provide at least one activity.

    Market Beef and Dairy Steer Deadline - February 15

    Beef project members are reminded to have their market beef and dairy steers tagged and identified by February 15. You have until 11:59 p.m. on February 15 to enter them into 4honline or turn ID paperwork into the Extension Office. Reminder: Cloverbud Beef Projects do NOT tag or ID their projects; instead they will indicate their intent to show an animal through their county fair registration in July. Prospect Dairy Steers (county fair only class) & Other Prospect Calves must be identified no later than May 15.

    Fruit Sales

    4-H Fruit Sales are the second largest fundraiser for 4-H members in McLeod County. The money is used to cover countywide programming costs for 4-H, as well as scholarships for events that members attend.

    Favorite Food Show

    We’d love to have you participate in this year’s 4-H Favorite Food Show! The 4-H Favorite Food Show is a 4-H Event in which a 4-H member prepares a favorite dish and displays it in an appropriate table setting. They are judged on their knowledge of preparation, appropriate table setting, menu and nutrition knowledge.

    2019 Southwest Animal Science Challenge

    Dairy, general livestock, and horse enthusiasts – mark your calendar! The eighth annual Southwest Animal Science Challenge will be held Saturday, February 16, at the Wabasso Public School in Wabasso, MN. This is a day-long 4-H event that consists of project bowl competition, hands-on skill-a-thon stations, and project workshops led by industry-leading professionals.

    2019 Regional 4-H Camp registration opens February 1

    Youth in grades 3-6 are invited to attend camp, June 18-20 at the University of Minnesota, Morris Campus. Registrations are being accepted from February 1 to May 10.

    Shooting Sport Open House & Practices

    The Minnesota 4-H Shooting Sports/Wildlife Program is designed to promote life skills through a safe and educational program. Young people learn by doing, as they experience hands-on learning in shooting sports and wildlife education. We hope you can join us on Thursday, January 17 for our winter open house and then, for practices after that.
