Shooting Sports & Wildlife Program: Progress Update

We are working to get an active 4-H Shooting Sports & Wildlife (SS&W) program in Waseca County. SS&W promotes valuable life skills through safe and educational experiences. Youth members explore firearms safety and the importance of conserving Minnesota's natural resources. Trained and certified 4-H leaders will lead this program.

You can learn more about 4-H SS&W here:

Right now we are in the process of recruiting adult volunteers to coordinate the program and instruct youth. We would like to find out which disciplines have the most interest so our potential instructors can certify in those areas. A survey has been created to help us gauge interest of both youth participants and adult volunteers (Survey available at

We are pursuing a few grants to help with equipment purchases as well.

We currently have one adult volunteer who has been through the leader's certification, so we are at a standstill until more adult volunteers go through the trainingIf you know of adults who enjoy shooting sports, hunting, wildlife, etc.. and is good with kids, please include their name and contact info (last survey question.) If you are an adult interested in helping with Waseca County 4-H Shooting Sports & Wildlife, please complete this survey also.
