4-H clover 4-H'er honored by Kiwanis Sunrisers of Winona

Matthew S. was recognized as the Winona County 4-H Youth Representative for the month of March. He is the son of Larry and Mitzi, a senior at St. Charles High School and a member of the Little Valley Victors 4-H Club. Following graduation, he plans to attend the University of Minnesota. Matthew has previously served as the club secretary and is currently the Vice President of his 4-H Club.

Matthew exhibits swine at the Winona County Fair and his favorite 4-H memories are state fair trips to the MN State Fair to show his 4-H swine project. He enjoys the 4-H Swine project as he gets to spend time with his cousins while also working with his livestock.  In addition to exhibiting at the Winona County Fair, Matthew is an active member of his 4-H Club helping with Ditch Clean-up, caroling at the Nursing Home, helping shop for donations for the Hometown Resource Center. Matthew also volunteers at the 4-H Food Stand during the Winona County Fair as well as the Annual 4-H Fall Harvest Event! Matthew shared “4-H has taught me how to connect with younger kids and how to be a leader”.

Winona Sunrisers Kiwanis Club honors one outstanding Winona County 4-H member during its breakfast meeting the fourth Wednesday of each month. The club meets on a weekly basis every Wednesday at 7 a.m. at the Winona Family Restaurant in Winona.
